Shea butter is extracted from the nuts of the Karite tree grown in West Africa. After 15 years of growth, the tree begins to bear fruit and it can take up to 30 years to bear a quality crop of nuts. Shea butter is also known to heal eczema, psoriasis, chapped, chaffed skin, razor burn, diaper rash, minor cuts, and scars. It can moisturize the scalp, and revitalize damaged and processed hair.
